‘DC Finest: Batman The Killing Joke and Other Stories’ Also Includes ‘Son of the Demon’ and ‘Ten Nights of the Beast’

If you already own multiple versions of Alan Moore and Brian Bolland’s The Killing Joke (and who doesn’t?) you may still want to consider purchasing the new DC Finest: Batman The Killing Joke and Other Stories for all of the other fine Batman stories produced in 1988.

In addition to The Killing Joke, the collection includes Batman #413-422, Detective Comics #580-589, and Mike W. Barr and Jerry Bingham’s Batman: Son of the Demon graphic novel, that sees the Dark Knight Detective team with archenemy Ra’s al Ghul to defeat a madman from taking over the world in an early attempt at DC Elseworld-style storytelling.

Other highlights include the four-part “Ten Nights of the Beast” KGBeast story by Jim Starlin, Jim Aparo, and Mike DeCarlo and the two-part “Dumpster Slasher” by Starlin, Dick Giordano, Joe Rubinstein, Mark Bright, and Steve Mitchell.

In addition to the previous mentioned creators, the DC Finest collection also includes work by Jo Duffy, John Wagner, Alan Grant, Lewis Klahr, Steve Piersall, Kieron Dwyer, Jim Baikie, Norm Breyfogle, Dean Haspiel, Pablo Marcos, Kim DeMulder, Ricardo Villagran, and Denis Rodier.

DC Finest: Batman The Killing Joke and Other Stories consists of 608 pages for a suggested retail price of $39.99.
