Sam Hamm, Denys Cowan, and Dick Giordano’s “Blind Justice” gets top billing in the latest Batman DC Finest Edition.
DC Finest: Batman: Blind Justice collects Batman #430-435, Batman Annual #13, Detective Comics #596-603, Detective Comics Annual #2, and a Poison Ivy and Man-Bat story from Secret Origins #36 and #39 respectively.
In addition to Hamm, Cowan, and Giordano, the collection includes work by Jim Starlin, James Owsley (a.k.a. Christopher Priest), John Byrne, Alan Grant, Mark Waid, Brian Augustyn, Neil Gaiman, Jan Strnad, Jim Aparo, Mike DeCarlo, Michael Bair, Gray Morrow, Eduardo Barreto, Steve Mitchell, Frank McLaughlin, Norm Breyfogle, Val Semeiks, Michael Bair, Mark Buckingham, and Kevin Nowlan.
1989’s “Blind Justice” story penned by Hamm (who also wrote Tim Burton’s Batman film that was also released in the same year) delves into the Dark Knight Detective’s past and introduced Henry Ducard to the Batman mythos.
Other highlights include the origin of Poison Ivy and Man-Bat, “The Many Deaths Of The Batman” storyline, and an adventure guest starring the rhyming demon Etrigan.
The three-part Blind Justice” story was previously collected in 1992 and 2005.
DC Finest: Batman: Blind Justice consists of 576 pages for a suggested retail price of $39.99.
