Harkening back to the ’90s swimsuit comic craze, DC Comics G’nort’s Illustrated Swimsuit Edition collects some of the splashiest comic swimsuit art since DC President Jim Lee’s famous X-Men pool party illustration.
G’nort’s Illustrated Swimsuit Edition features 48 pages of swimming costume art by Amanda Conner, Paul Pelletier, Nicola Scott, Mikel Janín, Jeff Dékal, Daniel Sampere, Gleb Melnikov, Derrick Chew, Stanley “Artgerm” Lau, Emanuela Lupacchino, Joëlle Jones, Megan Huang, Terry Dodson, Babs Tarr, Pete Woods, Joe Quinones, Hélène Lenoble, Otto Schmidt, Michael Allred, Sweeney Boo, David Talaski, Jenny Frison, and more.
Along with all of the wash board abs, the Swimsuit Edition also includes Steve Orlando and Paul Pelletier’s Midnighter and Apollo story, “Out There,” from DC Cybernetic Summer, a new 8-page story featuring The Penguin in a “too-tight-for-Oswald” suit by Julie Benson, Shawna Benson, and Meghan Hetrick, and more fun surprises.
Centerfold artists and their subjects include: Poison Ivy by Jen Bartel, Nightwing and Barbara Gordon by Jorge Jimenez and Alejandro Sánchez, and G’nort by Simon Bisley.
G’nort’s Illustrated Swimsuit Edition will arrive in stores during the dog days of summer on August 29, with a main cover (featuring a blown-dry G’Nort) by Vasco Georgiev along with open-to-order cardstock variant covers by J. Scott Campbell and Adam Hughes, and a 1:25 variant cover by Pablo Villalobos.
Check out Georgiev and Campbell’s covers below and some additional poolside art.
