No better way to celebrate “Big Red’s” 30th anniversary than with two enormous prints commemorating the lovable devil’s comic book debut in 1994.
The first two Dark Horse Direct screen prints (both measuring 24″ x 36″) will reproduce Mignola’s Seed of Destruction #1 and a 1994 Wake the Devil promotional comic ad.
The10-color Hellboy 30th Anniversary: Seed of Destruction #1 screen print is an exact replica of the original Mike Mignola cover, including a special appearance by Arthur Adams’ Monkeyman and O’Brien in the bottom corner.
The black-and-white Hellboy 30th Anniversary: Wake the Devil 1994 Comic Ad screen print features the single-page comic advertisement for the Wake the Devil series.
Eric Garza, the designer and content curator who worked on the project said “For 30 years, Mike has gifted readers with masterful storytelling, unmatched in his ability to convey atmosphere and mood, and to create (or end) worlds through a drip-perfect alchemy of art and story. Both prints will be produced using 100# Cougar uncoated paper and are expected to ship in August or September, 2024.
The Hellboy 30th Anniversary: Seed of Destruction #1 screen print will retail for $75.00 and will be limited to 500 units, and the Hellboy 30th Anniversary: Wake the Devil Comic Ad screen print is $60.00 and limited to 250 units.
