The Uncanny X-Men march towards issue #200 in the reissued X-Men: The Gift Epic Collection.
Originally released as an Epic Collection in 2015, The Gift covers the X-Men’s adventures from 1984 to 1985 in The Uncanny X-Men #189-198, The Uncanny X-Men Annual #8, X-Men and Alpha Flight #1-2, and the original Nightcrawler four-issue mini-series by Dave Cockrum.
All of the stories (other than the Nightcrawler mini-series) are naturally written by Chris Claremont, with art by John Romita, Jr., Steve Leialoha, Paul Smith, Barry Windsor-Smith, Dan Green, Bob Wiacek, and Joe Rubinstein.
The X-Men are faced with all manner of obstacles in the Epic Collection, ranging from the sorcery of Kulan Gath and Loki to futuristic and high tech threats in the form of Nimrod and Warlock. Guest stars in the collected stories include members of the New Mutants, the Avengers, and Power Pack.
Other highlights include the debut of the new Thunderbird and Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends animated “star” Firestar, the X-Men/Alpha Flight Asgardian adventure, and the second part of Storm’s “Life and Death” story by Claremont and Windsor-Smith (the first part occurred in Uncanny X-Men #186).
The Gift consists of 512 pages for a suggested retail price of $49.99.
