Dark Horse Books and Marvel Comics Introduce New ‘Marvel Black & White’ Series with ‘Barry Windsor-Smith’s Weapon X’

Dark Horse Books and Marvel Comics combine forces once again for a new line of archival, oversized editions of iconic Marvel Comics stories in black and white starting with Wolverine: Weapon X.

Marvel Black & White: Barry Windsor-Smith’s Weapon X presents the story by Windsor-Smith and Chris Claremont in its original black and white comic page form for the first time.

Originally serialized in Marvel Comics Presents #72-84, the “Weapon X” storyline is one of the essential Wolverine stories, detailing his origins in the diabolical Canadian facility.

The new 9″ x 12″ hardcover edition also includes additional artwork by Windsor-Smith from Uncanny X-Men #205 and #214, along with archival materials, a new essay from comics historians Chris Ryall and John Lind, and scans of the original artwork.

Windsor-Smith’ and Claremont’s character-defining Wolverine: Weapon X was released in an oversized color gallery edition in 2022.

Marvel Black & White: Barry Windsor-Smith’s Weapon X consists of 192 pages for a suggested retail price of $60.00.
