The latest Epic Collection showcases the start of Ann Nocenti’s run on the “Man Without Fear” and battles with many opponents with long, sharp appendages in It Comes With Claws.
Daredevil: It Comes With Claws contains issues #234-252 of the original Daredevil series that took place from 1986-1988.
Along with Nocenti, other writers represented in the collection include Mark Gruenwald, Danny Fingeroth, Steve Englehart [as John Harkness], and Christopher Priest (as Jim Owsley), along with art by a wide variety of Marvel legends such as Steve Ditko, Barry Windsor-Smith, Louis Williams, Sal Buscema, Keith Pollard, Chuck Patton, Tom Morgan, Keith Giffen, Rick Leonardi, John Romita Jr., Klaus Janson, Danny Bulanadi, Bob Wiacek, Al Williamson, Steve Leialoha, Al Milgrom, Tony DeZuniga, Dave Hunt, Geof Isherwood, and Todd McFarlane.
Some the aforementioned clawed adversaries include Sabretooth (in a “Mutant Massacre” cross-over), Wolverine, and Black Panther, as well as the non-clawed Madcap, Mister Hyde, Rotgut, The Nameless One, Bullet, and The Mater of Sound, Klaw (who actually has no claws to speak of).
Matt Murdock’s always complicated love life also takes center stage with the return of the Black Widow while he is attempting to rekindle the flame with Karen Page.
The Daredevil: It Comes With Claws Epic Collection contains 480 pages and comes with a suggested retail price of $44.99.
