Chris Claremont and Edgar Salazar’s retro Wolverine: Deep Cut four-issue series is now available in a new trade paperback collection.
The flash-back, in-continuity series transports Wolverine to the Australian Outback, which takes place before the Reavers’ attack in 1989’s Uncanny X-Men #251, featuring another early tussle with his arch-nemesis Sabretooth.
Editor Mark Basso said “One of the amazing things about Chris Claremont’s work is how rich and multi-layered his X-Men stories have always been. In Uncanny X-Men #246, he had to move Wolverine off-stage to get to the plethora of other characters and plotlines he had going.”
Claremont and Salazar previously worked together on the Wolverine: Madripoor Knights mini-series, which harkened back to an earlier mission involving Wolvie, Captain America, and the Black Widow.
Wolverine: Deep Cut consists of 136 pages for a suggested retail price of $17.99.
