Both of Peter David’s Captain Marvel series starring the long-lost son of the original Captain Mar-Vell will be available in a brand new Omnibus edition this October.
The Captain Marvel: Genis-Vell by Peter David Omnibus contains the original series from 1999 (#1-35), the second launch in 2002 (#1-25), and the Captain Marvel Wizard Zero Special.
David is joined in the collection by artists ChrisCross, James Fry, Patrick Zircher, Leonard Kirk, Chris Batista, Derec Aucoin, Jim Calafiore, J.J. Kirby, Rich Perotta, Ivan Reis, Paco Medina, Kyle Hotz, Michael Ryan, Paul Azaceta, Aaron Lopresti, Pat Quinn, Keith Giffen, Anibal Rodriguez, Walden Wong, Al Milgrim, Robin Riggs, Rich Perotta, Mark McKenna, Scott Hanna, and Jim Starlin.
David’s adventures of Genis-Vell (as with all of his work) are well known for their mix of comedy and action, especially when Rick Jones, his father’s former partner in mind, is once again looped into hijinks. The two runs contain crossovers with two of his other series, Incredible Hulk and Spider-Man 2099, and the debut of Genis’ sister, Phyla-Vell.
The Omnibus consists of a whopping 1,400 pages with a suggested retail price of $150.00.
Check out the two covers by ChrisCross and Alex Ross below and look for the Omnibus in stores on October 4.
