Captain America leaves the 1970s and moves into the 1980s in his new Omnibus.
The Captain America Vol. 5 Omnibus collects Captain America #215 and #217-260, The Incredible Hulk #232, Marvel Premiere #49, and Cap stories from What If? #5 and #26.
All stories (originally published from 1977 to 1981) are written by Roger McKenzie, Roger Stern, Roy Thomas, Don Glut, Scott Edelman, Steve Gerber, David Anthony Kraft, Peter Gillis, David Michelinie, Jim Shooter, Michael Fleisher, Mark Evanier, Chris Claremont, Alan Kupperberg, Paul Kupperberg, Mike W. Highlights in Vol. 5 include Stern and Byrne’s complete run, the start of Zeck’s run, a retelling of Cap’s origin, the end of the Falcon/Cap partnership (and removal of his name from the cover), a number of missions with Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D., a two-part titanic battle against the Hulk, contentious appearances by the Punisher and Daredevil, a potential 1980 presidential run against Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan, and fights with the Red Skull, the Ameridroid, The Constrictor Dr. Faustus, Baron Blood, and even a brought-to-life Lincoln Memorial statue.
Falcon also appears in a solo story from Marvel Premiere after the amicable split with Cap.
The two What If? stories include: “What if…Captain America and Bucky had Both Survived World War II” ” and the follow-up to the main title story that asks “What If Captain America Were Elected President?”
The Captain America Vol. 5 consists of 1,048 pages for a suggested retail price of $125.00.
