Mark Gruenwald’s legendary 10-year run as the writer of Captain America culminates in the new Captain America: Twilight’s Last Gleaming Epic Collection.
The Epic Collection includes Captain America #431-443, The Avengers #386-388 (by Terry Kavanagh, Angel Medina, and Mike Deodato Jr.), 1995’s Tales of Suspense one-shot (by James Robinson and Colin MacNeil), and ancillary material from Captain America Collectors’ Preview.
Additional art in the collection is provided by Dave Hoover, Dario Carrasco, Sandu Florea, Danny Bulanadi, Scott Koblish, Don Hudson, Marie Severin, Rick Hudson, Rick Hoover, Keith Williams, and Tom Palmer.
Twilight’s Last Gleaming contains stories from 1994 to 1995 and focuses on Cap’s Super-Soldier Serum rebelling against his body, forcing the hero to don a new suit of star-spangled armor. Cap (and the Avengers) contend with threats from Baron Zemo and his new Baroness, the Serpent Society, A.I.M., M.O.D.O.K. and his arch enemy the Red Skull.
The collection also contains the first appearances of fellow patriotic heroes Free Spirit and Jack Flag.
The Captain America: Twilight’s Last Gleaming Epic Collection consists of 480 pages for a suggested retail price of $44.99.
