Don’t let the cover fool you: there is much more to the latest Captain America Epic Collection than a Thor/Cap team-up vs. Dough Boy in a story titled “The House that Dripped…Dough!”.
Captain America: The Superia Strategem Epic Collection collects Captain America #387-397 by long-time writer Mark Gruenwald and artists Rik Levins, Danny Bulanadi, Bud LaRosa and the WWII throwback mini-series, The Adventures of Captain America #1-4 by Fabian Nicieza and Kevin Maguire.
The actual main event of the new Epic Collection is the six-part title story “The Superia Stratagem” which begins when Superia enlists an army of female super villains to take out the star-spangled Avenger.
Other highlights of the stories from 1991 and 1992 include a meeting with Cap’s German counterpart, Hauptmann Deutschland, and battles against the Red Skull, Scourge, Crossbones, Viper, Taskmaster, Jack O’Lantern, and the aforementioned Doughboy.
Captain America: The Superia Strategem Epic Collection consists of 472 pages for a suggested retail price of $39.99.
