The latest Captain America Epic Collection bookends two popular early 80s runs on the title, starting with Roger Stern and John Byrne and ending with J.M. DeMatteis and Mike Zeck.
Dawn’s Early Light collects Captain America #247-266 and Captain America Annual #5 (for a total of 496 patriotic pages). Cap is faced with a number of classic foes such as Baron Blood, Dragon Man, Batroc, Mister Hyde, Machinesmith, Baron Von Strucker, and the Red Skull, and he also gets some help along the way from compatriots Spider-Man, Dum Dum Duggan, Union Jack, and the original X-Men. In addition to all of the action, the Sentinel of Liberty considers a run for the office of the President (but he quickly realizes that he already has his hands full with liars and thieves) in issue #250 by Stern and Byrne.
Captain America: Dawn’s Early Light Epic Collection will be in comic stores on July 7 and retails for $39.99. Be sure to keep checking back with Conskipper for all of your Cap news, especially with all of the 80th Anniversary celebrations planned for this year.
