Iconic Events Releasing and Lionsgate celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Kinji Fukasaku’s Battle Royale with a special series of 4K theatrical-cut screenings this October.
Battle Royale (presented in Japanese with English subtitles) screens on Sunday, October 12, Monday, October 13, and Wednesday, October 15 at select locations.
In addition to the new 4K transfer, the rerelease also includes a rare interview with Kenta Fukasaku, Battle Royale‘s screenwriter and the son of director Kinji Fukasaku, about the legacy of his father’s film and the inspiration behind the wild, violent vision of high school students run amok long before The Hunger Games franchise.
