Avengers by Kurt Busiek and George Pérez Volume One Omnibus returns to comic shop shelves on January 4, 2023, with hopes that this is a sign that Volume Two will surface in the future.
The omnibus (originally released in 2015) contains the first part of the creative team’s relaunch of the title in 1998, and includes Avengers #0-23, Avengers Annual ’98 and ’99, as well as crossover stories from Iron Man #7, Captain America #8, and Quicksilver #10.
The omnibus also collects the entire Avengers Forever limited series (#1-12) by Busiek and Carlos Pacheco.
Busiek and Pérez stories brought the team back to prominence in the Marvel Universe, pitting them against classic villains such as Morgan Le Fay, the Squadron Supreme, the Kree Empire, the Legion of the Unliving, the Thunderbolts, the Wrecking Crew, and Ultron.
In addition to the work of Busiek, Pérez, and Pacheco, other artists and writers in the omnibus include Jerry Ordway, Mark Waid, John Ostrander, Joe Edkin, Len Kaminski, John Francis Moore, Roger Stern, Stuart Immonen, Sean Chen, Andy Kubert, Derec Aucoin, Leonardo Manco, Al Vey, Bob Wiacek, Bruce Patterson, Scott Koblish, Al Gordon, Wade von Grawbadger, Eric Cannon, Sean Parsons, Jesse Delperdang, Rich Faber, BATT, Vince Russell, Paul Neary, and Jesús Merino.
The Avengers by Kurt Busiek and George Pérez Volume One Omnibus contains 1,184 page for a suggested retail price of $125.00.
