Much to the delight of fans everywhere, The Audible Original adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s award-winning comic book The Sandman is only a few weeks away (the old-school radio drama debuts on July 15). And if that news wasn’t enough to get you excited, have you ever wondered what your dreams would look like if they were drawn by an accomplished DC artist?
Through July 25, fans of The Sandman are encouraged to submit descriptions of a memorable dream they’ve had at drawnfromthedreaming.com or via a mobile phone hotline at 515-SANDMAN (515-726-3626). The hotline will be narrated by Gaiman himself who will serve as your guide through the Drawn from The Dreaming experience.
If your dream is interesting (and suitable enough) to attract the attention of those evaluating the submissions, your dream will be illustrated by one of many DC artists, including original The Sandman illustrators Kelley Jones and Colleen Doran, as well as Mike Allred, Aaron Campbell, Max Fiumara, Tom Fowler, Tony Harris, Teddy Kristiansen, Domo Stanton, Matt Wagner and more
Once completed, the Dream drawings will be featured in an Instagram dream gallery, and fans will be tagged in their customized artwork as the inspiration for each artist.
Even though not everyone can win, everyone who submits a dream will be rewarded with an exclusive free audio episode from the upcoming The Sandman, including a brief overview of the story so far, as told by Gaiman, only on Audible. Participants will receive a text message with a link to the exclusive free episode of the Audible Original The Sandman once they have submitted their dreams.
The audible adaptation is directed by Dirk Maggs and narrated by Gaiman. The Sandman Audible Original features an impressive array of talent, including James McAvoy, Riz Ahmed, Kat Dennings, Taron Egerton, Bebe Neuwirth, Michael Sheen,Andy Serkis, and more.
