The second edition of the Amazing Spider-Man: The Goblin Lives Epic Collection (originally published in 2019) contains not only some of the classic Stan Lee/John Romita Sr. run, but also two rare comic magazine adventures.
The Goblin Lives Epic Collection consists of The Amazing Spider-Man #53-67, The Spectacular Spider-Man #1-2, Marvel Super Heroes #14, and Spidey comedy bits from Not Brand Echh #6 and 11.
The Spectacular Spider-Man comic magazines were Marvel’s first foray into a non-standard comic format in 1968 (at a whopping 35 cents a piece) and were surprisingly unsuccessful (before Marvel figured the comic magazine market out in the 1970s with the non-code Savage Sword of Conan and all of various Monster titles).
The Amazing Spider-Man issues contain the infamous Aunt May/Doctor Octopus romance, tangles with the Vuture, Kingpin, the Spider-Slayer, Mysterio, and disagreements with fellow heroes Medusa and Ka-Zar.
Besides Romita Sr., other artists in the collection include Don Heck, Jim Mooney, Ross Andru, Larry Lieber, Marie Severin, Mike Esposito, John Tartaglione, and Bill Everett.
The Amazing Spider-Man: The Goblin Lives Epic Collection contains 496 pages for a suggested retail price of $44.99.
