Alex Ross Reveals X-Men 60th Anniversary Artwork

Alex Ross has revealed his preliminary pencil work for an upcoming tribute for the 60th Anniversary of the X-Men, although where and how the artwork will be displayed has yet to be announced.

Ross shared the image on twitter, which is a homage to Jim Lee’s covers for 1991’s X-Men #1 by Lee and Chris Claremont.

Claremont and Lee’s X-Men #1 was originally released with four different variant covers featuring a different section of the complete art piece. The entire image was not fully revealed until the release of the fifth variant, which contained the complete art on a premium gatefold cover.

It is not clear when or where Ross’ artwork will be displayed (on a comic cover, poster, print or all three), so be sure to stay tuned to Conskipper for more information in the near future.
