Image Comics celebrates the 30th anniversary of one of their founding member’s superhero creations, Shadowhawk, this August.
The Last ShadowHawk #1 one-shot by writer/artist Philip Tan, co-writer Brian Haberlin, and inker Daniel Henriques finds the silver hero in not-too-distant future, when the world seems to be on the edge of destruction, and a new Shadowhawk must soar above the corruption to right the wrongs of those responsible for the mess we are in.
Jim Valentino (current Vice President at Image Comics and the original creator of Shadowhawk) says that he’s “…wanted to do something special for ShadowHawk‘s 30th anniversary and what better than to have long-time ShadowHawk fan, great artist and all around swell guy Philip Tan create a whole new book?”
Tan is equally excited about the one-shot, saying that “There is not enough space in two sentences to express how much Jim Valentino’s works and creations meant to me, and when the opportunity to be part of this special project came up, I just had to grab it!”
The Last Shadowhawk #1 will be available at comic book shops everywhere on Wednesday, August 17 with a variety of homage covers by Tan, Rob Liefeld, Bill Sienkeiwicz, and Valentino. Check them out below.
