Zack Snyder released a treat for Justice League fans who are curious how Steppenwolf will look in his upcoming cut of the film. The writer/director took to Vero to share a low resolution screencap of the mighty villain in all of his glory.
While the two versions of Steppenwolf share some similarities in overall shape and design, the differences between the two are pretty clear to even a casual viewer. In the theatrical cut of Justice League, Steppenwolf had a more human-like appearance, and many features of actor Ciarán Hinds’ face were visible to audiences. Snyder’s Steppenwolf appears to have sharper angles to his physique and he looks more otherworldly and menacing. You can compare the two baddies yourself by observing the collage below. The theatrical version is on the left, and Snyder’s version is on the right.

In his post on Vero, Snyder teased that his Steppenwolf will look even better when the final cut premieres in high definition: “Sorry he’s Low resolution but I’ve seen him in all his hi-Rez glory and he’s a thing to behold.”
The Snyder cut of Justice League is scheduled to premiere on HBO Max sometime in 2021. Stay tuned to Conskipper for complete coverage of this exciting project as soon as it breaks!
