‘X-Men: Inferno Prologue’ Omnibus Returns in December

In between “The Fall of the Mutants” and “Inferno” storylines, a lot was happening with Marvel’s mutants. In fact, so much was happening that Marvel decided to collect the Uncanny X-Men, New Mutants, and X-Factor issues before the “Inferno” began back in 2014, and now fans can once again purchase the X-Men: Inferno Prologue Omnibus.

X-Men: Inferno Prologue Omnibus includes a wide range of issues from 1988, starting with X-Factor #27-32, X-Factor Annual #3, Uncanny X-Men #228-238, New Mutants #62-70, New Mutants Annual #4, X-Men Annual #12, and related mutant excerpts from Marvel Age Annual #4 and Marvel Fanfare #40.

The collection also includes some of the best artists of the era such as Walt Simonson, Steve Lightle, Terry Shoemaker, Rick Leonardi, Marc Silvestri, Jon J. Muth, Bo Hampton, Bret Blevins, June Brigman, Bob Wiacek, Joe Rosen, Al MIlgrom, Dan Green, Joe Rubinstein, P. Craig Russell, Al Williamson, Bob McLeod, Terry Austin, and Art Adams, guided by writers Louise Simonson, Walt Simonson, Tom DeFalco, and Chris Claremont.

Besides the lead-up to “Inferno”, the reprinted omnibus also contains all of the mutant-led installments in Marvel’s 1988 Annual crossover, “The Evolutionary War”, as well as appearances by the Brood, various stooges from Genosha, Apocalypse’s Celestial ship, and Infectia.

The new edition actually costs a bit less than the last edition ($100 instead of $125) with all of the same 824 pages of story. Look for the X-Men: Inferno Prologue Omnibus at your local comic shop on December 7, with a cover by Silvestri and a variant cover by Adams.
