Wonder Woman and Shazam Battle the Gods in ‘Lazarus Planet: Revenge of the Gods’ Mini-Series

Spinning out of the events of DC’s Lazarus Planet, Shazam and Wonder Woman must navigate through a new celestial order in G. Willow Wilson and Cian Tormey’s upcoming Lazarus Planet: Revenge of the Gods bi-weekly mini-series.

Revenge of the Gods arrives at your local comic shop this March, as The Shazam family and Wonder Woman battle against former friends and mentors in the four issue mini-series.

Wilson is “…excited for readers to see what we’ve been cooking up–old favorite characters, new favorite characters, and team-ups you’ve never seen before are all coming your way. Diana will be tested in ways she’s never been tested before, and find new allies in unexpected places. There are some twists and reveals that I guarantee will have you jumping out of your chair.”

Tormey says that he is “…incredibly excited to get to work with G. Willow Wilson. I have been a fan of her work for years now and I couldn’t have chosen a more exciting book to work together on than Lazarus Planet: Revenge of the Gods. The story is going to feature things that I’ve never even thought about drawing before, so I hope everyone is ready for what we have planned!”

The turmoil in Revenge of the Gods also spills over into Wonder Woman #797 and #798 (by Becky Cloonan, Michael W. Conrad, and Amancay Nahuelpan) and will guide the course for the Amazonian goddess throughout the rest of 2023. The back-up feature in the issues will star Mary Marvel by The New Champion of Shazam writer Josie Campbell and artist by Caitlin Yarsky.

The entire Lazarus Planet event kicks off with January’s Lazarus Planet Alpha. Check out the handy checklist and the cover of the first issue of Revenge of the Gods by Guillem March below.
