The TV series that brought the Amazonian princess to a whole new generation of fans is finally getting a complete blu-ray boxed set on July 28.
The new 10-disc box set collects all three seasons (totaling 59 episodes) of the series, which ran from 1975 to 1979 on ABC and starred the perfectly cast Lynda Carter as the star-spangled heroine. Lyle Waggoner played Steve Trevor in the first season and Steve Trevor, Jr. in the remaining two seasons after the setting was moved from World War II to the present day. Fans will have to see if this device is used in the upcoming film, Wonder Woman 1984, to explain the reappearance of Chris Pine’s version of Trevor.
The collection includes the original feature-length pilot, The New Original Wonder Woman, and a number of bonus features. The collection contains an audio commentary track by Carter and executive producer Douglas S. Cramer’s for The New Original Wonder Woman and Carter goes solo on the season three opening episode “My Teenage Idol is Missing”. Featurettes include: Beauty, Brawn and Bulletproof Bracelets: A Wonder Woman Retrospective, Revolutionizing a Classic: From Comic Book to Television, Wonder Woman: The Ultimate Feminist Icon.
The collection was originally released as a dvd set in 2017. The new blu-ray collection retails for $64.99, although many online sellers already have the set at closer to $45.99.
