The mid-90’s Feral Wolverine takes center stage in his latest Epic Collection entitled Tooth and Claw and includes a number of rare one-shots.
The bulk of the collection hails from Larry Hama’s Wolverine #101-109, #102.5, Wolverine Annual 1996, and The Uncanny X-Men #332, when Logan’s attempt to regain his Adamantium goes horribly wrong and puts him into an animalistic mindset.
Elektra of all people helps him regain some of his humanity (and teams up with him to fight plenty of ninjas along the way) right before Onslaught shows up in one of the most controversial eras in mutant history.
The very rare (and expensive) Wolverine #102.5 features 11 pages worth of Fleer trading cards in sequential order and a number of other pin-ups and art.
The Epic Collection also includes the Wolverine vs. Venom mini-series that gives the collection its name, Venom: Tooth and Claw #1-3 by Hama, Joe St. Pierre, and Al Milgrom, and two one-shots that examine the character before he joined the X-Men: Logan: Path of the Warlord by Howard Mackie, John Paul Leon, and Shawn Martinbrough, and Logan: Shadow Society by Mackie, Mark Jason, Tomm Coker, Keith Aiken, and Octavio Cariell.
Other Marvel talent featured in the Epic Collection includes: Dan Slott, Jeph Loeb, Ralph Macchio, Scott Lobdell, Joe Kelly, Adam Kubert, Val Semeiks, Mark Buckingham, Ed McGuinness, Mike Wieringo, Tommy Lee Edwards, Keith Aiken, Harry Candelario, Richard Case, Dan Panosian, Dan Green, Chad Hunt, Anthony Winn, Vince Russell, Nathan Massengill, Norman Lee, Tim Townsend, and Joe Madureira.
Wolverine: Tooth and Claw contains 496 pages with a suggested retail price of $44.99. Check out the cover by St. Pierre below and keep returning to Conskipper for more information about future releases of vintage content.
