Tim Russ Joins Cast of ‘John Carter of Mars: The Audio Series’

Tim Russ trades in his Vulcan ears for some extra arms in Pocket Universe Productions upcoming John Carter of Mars: The Audio Series project.

Russ will voice the noble Thark warrior Tars Tarkas, alongside his human compatriot John Carter, played by Sean Patrick Flanery.

Russ is well-known for his role as the Vulcan Tuvok on Star Trek: Voyager, but is looking forward to taking on the giant alien warrior. Russ said “Tars is a rogue character among his race. His attitude and his breaking with the cultural attitude of his people, and making an ally of John Carter, makes him interesting.”

Russ also enjoys “…working on audio dramas because they have a history in our method of storytelling. Multiple characters, music and sound effects . . . close your eyes and listen . . . there’s nothing like it. And this audio drama tells a complex, dynamic and interesting story — something very similar to concept of Star Trek.”

John Carter of Mars: The Audio Series is currently available to back on Kickstarter through September 18, 2024.

Stay tuned to Conskipper for more updates on the project and other classic books, audio books, and films.
