The first half of the critically acclaimed The Spectre series from 1992 materializes in the form of the new The Spectre by John Ostrander and Tom Mandrake Omnibus Vol. 1.
The Omnibus collects The Spectre #0-31 by Ostrander and Mandrake, with additional art by John Ridgway, Joe Phillips, Jim Aparo, Mike Dutkiewicz, A.J. Kent, Dave Chlystek, Kelley Jones, Adam McDaniel, and Dennis Cramer.
The planned two Omnibus set begins when New York City police officer Jim Corrigan dies in the line of duty only to resurrected as the Spectre, God’s eternal agent of vengeance.
The stories of Ostrander and Mandrake lean into the horror aspects of the concept and character, and shy away from the inclusion of the super heroes of the DC Universe, and instead put The Spectre in contact with characters like John Constantine, Etrigan the Demon, the Phantom Stranger, Doctor Fate, and Zatanna.
The Omnibus also comes with a glow-in-the-dark dust jacket, a new introduction and issue commentary by Ostrander, and never-before-seen development art by Mandrake.
The Spectre by John Ostrander and Tom Mandrake Omnibus Vol. 1 consists of 888 pages for a suggested retail price of $125.00.
