‘The Marvel Creator Collection No. 1: ‘Back to the Savage Land’ Barry Windsor-Smith at Marvel’ Collects Early Marvel Work 

Fantagraphics first of a three-volume collection of artist Barry Windsor-Smith’s Marvel work titled The Marvel Creator Collection No. 1: “Back to the Savage Land” Barry Windsor-Smith at Marvel Vol. 1 spotlights the legendary artist’s earliest Marvel work.

Volume 1 focuses on Windsor-Smith’s work on The Avengers, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Ka-Zar, and Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. as well as horror stories from Chamber of Darkness and Tower of Shadows.

Fantagraphics recently collected some of Windsor-Smith’s work in their Lost Marvels: The Tower of Shadows collection.

The Marvel Creator Collection No. 1: “Back to the Savage Land” Barry Windsor-Smith at Marvel Vol. 1 hardcover (8.8″ x 11.3″) will consist of 352-page for a suggested retail price of $49.99.

  1. He was a very talented man though I didn’t see it until Conan #3. Good news bad news joke— The good news is Marvel acquired Conan. The bad news is Barry Smith is drawing it. I’m glad that the editors at Marvel saw things more clearly than I did.
