The Kingpin Targets the Heroes of New York City in Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto’s ‘Devil’s Reign’

Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto expand their reach from “The Hero of Hell’s Kitchen” to the other sections of New York City this December with the release of the classic-style Marvel Comics crossover mini-series event, Devil’s Reign.

According to Zdarsky, the plot of Devil’s Reign grew out the storylines that he and Checchetto were weaving in Daredevil “… to the point where it would clearly affect the Marvel Universe in huge ways. Thankfully, Marvel recognized this as well and gave Marco and I the opportunity to tell the story on a massive stage with Devil’s Reign! This is a proper Marvel event springing from the pages of Daredevil and I think all Marvel readers will love what’s coming!”

Checchetto is excited to expand on the groundwork already established by the creative team in their current run on Daredevil, and the artist is looking forward to drawing “…so many characters that I love so much, heroes and villains, and I’m trying to give everyone the dignity and respect they deserve. It will be great.”

The crux of Devil’s Reign revolves around Mayor Fisk’s attempts to besmirch the reputations of not only Daredevil and Elektra, but also Iron Man, Captain America, Luke Cage, Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four and others, as he slowly reveals dark secrets about all of them. And just in case the dirty secrets don’t put the heroes out of business, he also has the combined might of Crossbones, Taskmaster, Typhoid Mary, Shocker, Whiplash, Rhino, and Kraven to fall back on.

The six issue mini-series arrives on December 8 as one of the first of many planned event series from Marvel over the next six months, so check out the cover preview below and keep coming back to Conskipper for all of your Marvel news.
