The Incredible Hulk Wrestles with ‘Devolution’ in New Epic Collection

Bill Mantlo and Sal Buscema’s six-year Incredible Hulk run continues in the new Devolution Epic Collection.

Incredible Hulk: Devolution collects The Incredible Hulk #263-279, The Incredible Hulk Annual #10-11, and The Incredible Hulk vs. Quasimodo one-shot.

Additional art is provided by Rick Leonardi, Rich Buckler, Mark Gruenwald, Frank Miller, Joe Sinnott, Steve Mitchell, Al Milgrom, Greg LaRocque, Chic Stone, Bob Wiacek, Dan Green, and Frank Giacoia.

The stories (originally published between 1981 and 1983) feature an intelligent Hulk confronting villains such as the High Evolutionary, Glorian, the Hulk Hunting trio of Amphibion, Torgo, and Dark-Dweller, Megalith, Wendigo, and the U-Foes.

Plenty of heroic guest stars also appear in the collection, such as Rocket Racoon (in his first comic book appearance not including his quasi-debut in Marvel Preview #7 as Rocky Racoon), Sasquatch and Alpha Flight, the Rangers (Red Wolf, Firebird, Texas Tornado, Shooting Star, and Night Rider), and Captain Universe.

The Incredible Hulk: Devolution Epic Collection consists of 496 pages for a suggested retail price of $54.99
