The latest Amazing Spider-Man Epic Collection, LifeTheft, revisits the era in comics that almost ended the entire industry and gave Peter Parker constant new villains as well as revamped old favorites.
The work of writers David Michelinie, J.M. DeMatteis, Howard Mackie, and Mike Lackey, and artists Mark Bagley, Tom Lyle , Larry Alexander, and Steven Butler are represented in the collection which includes Amazing Spider-Man #381-393, Amazing Spider-Man Annual #28, Spider-Man #45, Spectacular Spider-Man #211, Web of Spider-Man #112, and another gimmick from the 90s in the form of The Amazing Spider-Man Ashcan Edition #1.
The majority of the stories take place between 1992 and 1994, focusing on the “return” of Peter Parker’s parents in the “Pursuit” and the story that gives this collection its title, “LifeTheft”, which features a powered-up Vulture. Other issues include battles with The Jury, Chameleon, Shriek, Carnage, Demogoblin, Carrion, and a two-part adventure with The Hulk and Doc Samson.
