‘Swamp Thing by Nancy Collins’ Omnibus Rises Again

The Swamp Thing work by Nancy Collins is once again collected in the aptly named Swamp Thing by Nancy Collins Omnibus.

The Omnibus (originally released in 2020) features all of the Swamp Thing stories by noted horror/vampire author Collins (Sunglasses After Dark) from Swamp Thing #110-139, Swamp Thing Annual #6-7, Black Orchid #5, and a Swampy story from Vertigo Jam #1.

Dick Foreman fills in for three issues of Collins’ Vertigo run, which contains art by Scot Eaton, Tom Mandrake, Russell Braun, Mark Buckingham, Bill Jaaska, Tom Yeates, Rebecca Guay, Shawn McManus, Jan Duursema, Jill Thompson, Dennis Cramer, Phil Hester, Kim DeMulder, Shepherd Hendrix, Tatjana Wood, Rick Bryant, Greg Baker, and Stan Woch.

Some highlights from Collins run include a mad priest and his suicidal flock, the dream-pirates of Dark Conrad, an appearance by John Constantine, and Swamp Thing’s candidacy for governor of Louisiana.

Collins’ run (starting in 1991) followed Doug Wheeler’s time on the title. Grant Morrison and Mark Millar took over for Collins at the end of her run in 1994 (which lasted four issues before Millar started his solo run on the title).

The edition once again contains an introduction by Collins and behind-the-scenes material.

The Omnibus contains 968 pages for a suggested retail price of $125.00.

The Swamp Thing by Nancy Collins Omnibus comes with a cover by Charles Vess.
