‘Stargirl’ Returning to The CW for Season 2

Original DCU series Stargirl has now found a permanent home on The CW for season two and beyond.

Variety broke the news today that Courtney Whitmore and friends will now be broadcast exclusively on The CW. Originally, Stargirl aired on the DC Universe streaming service and would air on CW the following day.

Rating on CW have been a bright spot as “… it has averaged a 0.2 rating in adults 18-49 and just over 1 million viewers per episode in the Nielsen Live+Same Day ratings. That is on par with other DC superhero shows that aired on CW during the regular season. In Live+3, the show rises to a 0.4 and 1.5 million viewers.”

This news does not bode well for the DC Universe, as the streaming service has not only lost Stargirl, but it is also now sharing Doom Patrol season 2 with HBO Max, and the animated Harley Quinn series will also be shared by both services very soon.

Stargirl “stars” Brec Bassinger as the title character along with Luke Wilson, Amy Smart, Trae Romano, Cameron Gellman, Yvette Monreal, Anjelika Washington, Meg DeLacy, Neil Jackson, Jake Austin Walker, Christopher James Baker and Hunter Sansone.
