Star Wars: Rebels fans will be happy to hear that the upcoming Disney+ live-action series Ahsoka will not only include the previously announced Sabine Wren, but also Chopper, Hera Syndulla, and perhaps even Ezra Bridger and Admiral Thrawn.
The good news was revealed at this year’s Star Wars Celebration – Anaheim 2022 on the Mando+ panel, which featured executive producers Dave Filoni, Jon Favreau, Rosario Dawson, and Natasha Liu Bordizzo (who will be playing Wren in Ahsoka). Dawson even brought that feisty droid chopper on stage for an appearance for the adoring audience.
The preliminary footage that was displayed to those in attendance included a shot of Syndulla (from behind), her ship, The Ghost, Chopper, and a maudlin Wren admiring a mural (that she painted, of course) featuring the entire Rebels crew.
It has also been heavily implied that Ahsoka’s plot will have much to do with the quest to find Bridger and Thrawn, so the introduction of live-action versions of the Rebels characters certainly makes sense.
Other cast members announced include Ivanna Sakhno, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Ray Stevenson in currently undisclosed roles.
