Stan Lee and Jack Kirby’s Original Thor Stories Return in ‘Thor: God of Thunder’ Epic Collection

Stan Lee and Jack Kirby’s original Journey Into Mystery Mighty Thor stories are once again available in the re-release of 2014’s Thor: God of Thunder Epic Collection.

The origins of Marvel’s Thor are revealed (beginning in Journey into Mystery#83, and continued until issue #109 in God of Thunder) when Dr. Donald Blake discovers that fateful hammer, and the Norse adventures begin!

The original stories establish Asgard, Odin, Heimdall, Balder, and Loki for the first time (through their interactions with the number one son of the shinning realm and also in hard-to-find back-up features), as well as his role as Midgard’s defender, battling Radioactive Man, the Enchantress, The Executioner, Lava Man, Cobra, Mr. Hyde. Magneto, The Tomorrow Man, The Grey Gargoyle, Merlin, and even Carbon Copy Man and a handful of communists. Thor also meets the love of his life (and future Thor) Jane Foster in the comics collected in this edition, which represents work originally published from 1962-1964.

Thor: God of Thunder Epic Collection contains 480 pages and sails across the Rainbow Bridge on April 6 with a cover price of $44.99.
