Spider-Man is getting bloody? Say it ain’t so!
Yes, Marvel is adding a little blood to the wholesome wall crawler’s stories in the upcoming Spider-Man: Black Suit & Blood mini-series in August.
Granted, it is the Black suit, so it make a little more sense, and follows the bloody path of the successful Black, White & Blood series featuring Wolverine, Deadpool, Moon Knight, Darth Vader, Darth Maul, Elektra, and Carnage among others.
The new series will feature a mixed bag of throw-back, never-before-told tales set during Spidey’s Black Suit era, while other entries will take a more modern look at the legacy of the costume.
Creators announced for the first issue in the anthology include: J.M. DeMatteis and Elena Casagrande adding a piece to the seminal “Kraven’s Last Hunt” tale, J. Michael Straczynski and Sumit Kumar profiling a piece of the original symbiote that has been creeping around Peter’s apartment, and Dustin Nguyen’s hunt for Spider-Man story.
As with previous Black, White & Blood series, look for an announcement about a Treasury-sized edition (as well as the traditional trade paperback) once the bloody series wraps up.
The first of four issues hits comic shops on August 7.
