‘Spectacular Spider-Man: Lo this Monster’ Now Available in Treasury Edition

Both of the Spectacular Spider-Man Magazines from 1968 are now available in a vintage-style Treasury Collection.

The two issues, originally published in Marvel’s magazine format, are both written by Stan Lee, with art by John Romita, Sr., Larry Lieber, Jim Mooney, Frank Giacoia, and Bill Everett.

In the first issue’s black and white story, the mayoral race in New York City is impact by a monster on the loose (and also includes a retelling of Spidey’s origin story) and the second color issue ushers in the return of the Green Goblin.

Marvel’s first attempt at more mature stories in a magazine format was rereleased in 2002 as a facsimile edition (Spectacular Spider-Man #1 only) and in 2019 as a trade paperback (which included both issues).

This is the first time that stories have appeared in a Treasury Edition.

Spectacular Spider-Man: Lo this Monster Treasury Edition consists of 136 pages for a suggested retail price of $29.99.
