Sideshow Collectibles Announces Sideshow Con 2020 Virtual Convention Experience

Sideshow Collectibles just announced a creative new way to avoid the doldrums of a convention-less world during the summer of 2020 due to COVID-19. The company will be launching its own virtual event to coincide with San Diego Comic-Con’s virtual festivities this July.

In a press release, Sideshow revealed that Sideshow Con will feature live streams and special events centered around a physical booth space they will create, just like the ones they would have been pulling off in person at San Diego Comic-Con. The event will run online from July 20th to the 26th, and it will feature new product announcements, convention exclusive products, and opportunities to connect with Sideshow’s talented artists and staff.

Andy Smith, Sideshow’s PR manager, had this to say about the creation of Sideshow Con 2020:

“The ‘Sideshow Con’ idea was really born from our sadness about the cancellation of the physical San Diego Comic-Con. We wanted to find a way of showcasing all of the new products that Sideshow and our partners are unveiling this year, but also to try and bring all of the engagement, discussion, interaction, love, and enthusiasm of an in-person event to this venture.”

Sideshow is known for elaborate in person convention experiences, and the company has offered fans generous at-home experiences and contests for years. Sideshow Con 2020 promises to up the ante on these virtual offerings for this all-digital event.

Sideshow is offering a pre-registration process for fans who want to catch all of the earliest details and offerings as soon as they break. Fans can pre-register at side.show/con.
