Although Shudder is a place that any Halloween aficionado can get their treats year round, AMC Network’s horror streamer kicks it up a notch once September hits.
Shudder begins their annual 61-day Halloween event beginning on September 1 with 11 new films and new original series, plus 15 new additions to the Shudder library.
General Manager Craig Engler says that “Halloween is the best time of year on Shudder, and this Halloween, we’re featuring the best lineup of programming in our history. We have 11 original and exclusive movie premieres, including a new film from horror master Dario Argento, a Halloween special from superstar host Joe Bob Briggs, and three new series — from Bryan Fuller, The Boulet Brothers, and the producers of Eli Roth’s History of Horror.”
The two new documentary series include the eight episode 101 Scariest Horror Movie Moments of All Time (September 7) and the four episode Queer for Fear: A History of Queer Horror (September 30). Each series will debut new episodes on a weekly basis.
Shudder’s version of the Yule Log called the “The Ghoul Log,” is also back, running 24/7 as well as the and Halloween Hotline, where subscribers can receive live horror film recommendations from head curator Samuel Zimmerman. Just call 914-481-2239 any Friday in October from 3:00-4:00 pm.
