‘Robert Shaw: An Actor’s Life on the Set of JAWS and Beyond’ Author Christopher Shaw Myers: The Conskipper Interview

No one that has ever seen Jaws has ever forgotten Robert Shaw’s performance in the film, due in large part to his famous USS Indianapolis speech/story.

His bravura performance in Jaws was indicative of his entire creative and personal life, a subject that is examined in a unique fashion in his nephew Christopher Shaw Myers’ narrative autobiography titled Robert Shaw: An Actor’s Life on the Set of Jaws and Beyond.

Shaw Myers access to his Uncle’s life is filtered through the remembrances of not only the author, but Shaw Myers’ mother Joanna (and sister of Shaw) who was his closest friend and family member during his life. The stories about his life and acting and writing career are engaging, hilarious, and harrowing, and rest assured, there are also plenty of untold anecdotes about his experiences on Jaws.

We got a chance to speak to Shaw Myers about his new book, fittingly released during the 50th Anniversary of Jaws and now available at your local book store.
