Peter David Reinvents Girl of Steel in ‘DC Finest: Supergirl: Body and Soul’ Collection

Peter David, Gary Frank, and Cam Smith’s reinvention of Supergirl takes centers stage in the new DC Finest: Supergirl: Body and Soul collection.

Featuring stories published between September 1996 and February 1998, the late 90s’ Supergirl was a literal mix of two characters: Matrix, the protoplasmic Supergirl, and human Linda Danvers.

Supergirl: Body and Soul collects Supergirl #1-18, Supergirl Annual #1-2, Supergirl Plus (1997), and a related story in Showcase 96 #8.

In addition to David, the collection includes writing by Darren Vincenzo, Joe R. Lansdale, Neal Barrett, Jr., Tom Peyer, and Chuck Dixon, with art by Frank, Smith, Leonard Kirk, Greg Land, Prentis Rollins, Robert Teranishi, Stan Woch, Anthony Castrillo, Jordi Ensign, Mike Manley, Bret Blevins, and John Nyberg.

DC Finest: Supergirl: Body & Soul consists of 568 pages for a suggested retail price of $39.99.
