Marvel extends their long-running What If…? concept to the world outside the borders of the Marvel Universe for the first time with a new five-issue Aliens comic series, asking the question: “What If… Carter Burke has lived?”
The actor who portrayed the sleazy villain in Aliens, Paul Reiser, is back to help pen the alternate story, joined by his son Leon and a few people who are known for trips down memory lane, Adam F. Goldberg (of The Goldbergs),Brian Volk-Weiss (The Toys That Made Us), Hans Rodionoff, and artist Guiu Vilanova.
Carter Burke’s story takes place thirty-five years after the events of Aliens, and sees the former executive down on his luck in a horrible job and location, with a strained relationship with his daughter to boot.
Reiser said, “For years, people have asked me about Burke, what it was like to play such a ‘bad guy,’ to which my response was always ‘You say ‘bad,’ I say ‘misunderstood.’ Now the world will find out!”
