An upcoming Jaws documentary will commemorate the film’s 50th Anniversary, and again look behind the scenes of Steven Spielberg‘s film and Peter Benchley’s novel.
The documentary (with a current working title of Jaws @ 50) will be directed by Spielberg biographer Laurent Bouzereau and produced by Spielberg’s Amblin Documentaries and National Geographic for a summer 2025 release on National Geographic, Disney+, and Hulu.
The film will include camera footage and photographs from the Benchley and Spielberg archives, and will also look at how Jaws initially incited a great fear of sharks and how that fear has now turned to a great conservation effort.
Bouzereau’s decade-long retrospective on the famed director, Spielberg: The First Ten Years, came out last year and Bouzereau is also currently working on a film about composer John Williams.
