Marvel Comics is pulling out all the stops to get readers back into comic shops with its new Marvel Must-Haves initiative which will provide retailers and fans with a free anthology comic book on a monthly basis.
These free 80 page comics will spotlight current series featuring easily recognizable characters, in hopes that readers will want to dive into back issue boxes, trade paperback collections, and Marvel Unlimited to complete the stories.
The first issue of Marvel Must-Haves will feature Spider-Man/Deadpool #1 by Joe Kelly and Ed McGuiness, Immortal Thor #2 by Al Ewing and Martin Coccolo, and Ms. Marvel: The New Mutant #1 by Iman Vellani, Sabir Pirzada, and Carlos Gomez.
Comic book shops that carry new Marvel Comics will receive a 25-comic bundle for free from Marvel Comics. It is up to each individual comic book store owner to figure out how to distribute the comics to their buyers.
Marvel Must-Haves #1 will be available on March 6.
