The Marvel Masterworks line has been one of the most popular vintage comic editions with collectors since their debut in 1987 due to the quality and care put into each individual volume. 330 volumes later, Marvel has decided to start again from the beginning with re-issues of the original volumes, calling the new editions Remasterworks.
While the new branding doesn’t look like it will appear on the covers, the line will restart with the first volumes in The Amazing Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, and The X-Men series in May, June, and July of 2023.
The Remasterworks will contain new printings of the original Marvel Masterworks books with improved restoration of the material and expanded bonus features such as “…scans of original art, essays and covers from other collections of the material, house ads, creator bios, and more!”
The new editions of the Marvel Masterworks line will only get one printing of each volume, so if you missed them in 1987 (or the brief relaunch of a smattering of titles in 2003) be sure to put in your pre-orders on time for the new ones.
