Mad Cave Studios Brings Back Original ‘Flash Gordon’ Movie Adaptation

The 1980 Flash Gordon comic book adaptation returns in a new graphic novel collection this summer.

The original three-part comic adaptation by Bruce Jones and Al Williamson will be available for the first time since 1981 in a new trade paperback collection on July 7.

The adaptation was originally released in Whitman Comics’ Flash Gordon #31-33 (and inserted right into the series, similar to how Marvel Comics adapted the Empire Strikes Back in the middle of the original Star Wars comic run)

Williamson was also a long-time contributor to the Flash Gordon comic strip.

Mad Cave is also the comic book home of the new Flash Gordon series.
