The Last Czarnian Stars in ‘Lobo: Big Fraggin’ Compendium One’

One of the most popular and polarizing characters of the early ’90s gets his very own jumbo-sized Compendium edition this summer.

The Lobo: Big Fraggin’ Compendium One opens with the purple and orange body-suit wearing bounty hunter’s debut in 1983’s The Omega Men #3, before being transformed into the no-nonsense space thrasher by Keith Giffen, Alan Grant, and Simon Bisley in his first solo four-issue mini-series in 1990.

The Compendium includes virtually all of Lobo’s back catalogue from the 1990s such as Lobo #0-9, Lobo Annual #1-2, Lobo Paramilitary Christmas Special, Lobo’s Back #1-4, Lobo: Blazing Chain of Love, Lobo: Infanticide #1-4, Lobo: Portrait of a Victim, Lobo: Unamerican Gladiators #1-4, Lobo Convention Special, Lobo: A Contract on Gawd #1-4, Lobo: In the Chair, Lobocop #1, Green Lantern Corps Quarterly #8, Superman: The Man of Steel #30, The Demon #11-15, and the Main Man’s profile pages from Who’s Who in the DC Universe (Loose-Leaf Edition) #8.

In addition to the work of Giffen, Grant, and Bisley, the collections also includes work by John Wagner, David De Vries, Louise Simonson, Roger Slifer, Val Semeiks, Christian Alamy, Dan DeCarlo, Cam Kennedy, Marion Emond, Gene Ha, Jon Bogdanove, Kieron Dwyer, Kevin O’Neill, Carlos Ezquerra, John Ridgway, Peter Gross, Dave Johnson, Chris Alexander, Robin Smith, Gabrielle Morrissette, Sergio Aragones, Frank Gomez, Dwayne Turner, Pablo Raimondi, Dusty Abell, Denis Rodier, Bob Smith, Christian Alamy, Allison Flood, Marian Emond, John Dell, Scott Hanna, Dennis Janke, Klaus Janson, Dick Giordano, Frank McLaughlin, Robin Smith, Kevin O’Neil, Wayne Faucher, and Mike DeCarlo.

The Lobo: Big Fraggin’ Compendium One consists of 1,256 pages for a suggested retail price of $59.99.
