Fans of The Black Widow have had to wait a little bit longer than expected to see Natasha Romanoff headline her own Marvel film. And while there is no current release date for the film, fans can whet their appetite for some super hero spy action with writer Kelly Thompson and artist Elena Casagrande’s new Black Widow series this September!
Thompson, know for her work on Hawkeye, West Coast Avengers, Captain Marvel, and Deadpool, told Marvel.com that the series is “…a bold new vision for Black Widow and one I am really hoping people can get excited about. Our first arc has some of the stuff you would expect in a Black Widow book, but I think twisted in a new way that’s interesting – and where she ends up at the end of this highly personal and life-changing story is ALSO interesting!”
Elena Casagrande has illustrated a number of comics for DC, including Batgirl, Catwoman, and Wonder Woman.
Stay tuned for more information about the new Black Widow series and further updates on the upcoming MCU film.
