Writer Katie Dippold Hired to Script New ‘Haunted Mansion’ Movie for Disney

It appears that Disney is preparing to take another cinematic trip through the famous home to “999 happy haunts”.

Writer Katie Dippold (according to an exclusive report from The Hollywood Reporter) has been hired to breath more life into the Haunted Mansion (hopefully a substantial amount more than Disney’s Eddie Murphy-led attempt gave to fans).

Dippold is known for her work on Sony’s 2016 reboot of Ghostbusters and hit comedy The Heat. Dippold began her career as a writer on Parks and Recreation. Hopefully, the writer will use some of her trademark humor (which the ride is famous for) with an eye for detail from the two classic attractions.

Guillermo del Toro has often expressed a desire to make a film based on the Haunted Mansion, but unfortunately for hardcore fans like del Toro himself, the project never “materialized”.

Be sure to “hurry back” for more updates on the proposed Haunted Mansion film.
