‘Kamandi by Jack Kirby Vol. 1’ Collects First Half of Kirby’s Series

One of Jack Kirby’s cult classics, Kamandi, returns in a brand new edition that captures the first twenty issues of King Kirby’s apocalyptical epic.

All of the issues in Kamandi by Jack Kirby Vol. 1 trade paperback (from 1972-74) are scripted and penciled by Jack Kirby with inks by Mike Royer And D. Bruce Berry.

Kamandi (also known as The Last Boy on Earth!) has to contend with life in a strange new version of Earth, replete with monstrous predators and highly intelligent, talking animal mutants, some of whom are friendly and others that are less welcoming.

DC Comics originally reprinted the Kamandi saga in two DC Archive Editions in 2005 and 2007 (which was broken up into issues #1-10 in volume one and #11-20 in volume two).

Subsequent out-of-print collections include: 2011 and 2012’s Kamandi: The Last Boy on Earth hardcover volumes (vol. 1 contained #1-20 and vol. 2 contained #21-40), and the more recent Kamandi Omnibus from 2018 (which collected the first forty issue, and all of the Kirby stories).

The Kamandi by Jack Kirby Vol. 1 trade paperback contains 456 pages and comes with a suggested retail price of $39.99.
