IDW continues their popular Artists Edition Line with one dedicated to John Romita’s Spider-Man newspaper strips.
John Romita’s Amazing Spider-Man: The Daily Strips Artist’s Edition features 300 newspaper strips by the legendary artist, reproduced to match the size, scale and appearance of the original artwork.
The high-resolution scans of Romita Sr.’s art (written by Stan Lee and others) from 1977 to 1978 are included in the prestige edition, with the entire first two months of the strip on display (including a retelling of Spider-Man’s origin).
The 19.5″ x 20″ format allows for each page to replicate the original size of Romita’s drawing board, and as with other IDW editions, all of the line art, blue pencil work, and corrections are just as they appeared on the original pages.
The 176 page hardcover retails for $150 and will be available at your favorite comic book shop on January 9.
